Firstly, please allow me to introduce myself; my name is Ian Dowdell and I manage Blunsdon Colts FC under-15 football team. We are sponsored by Blunsdon House Hotel and they support our team in a number of ways, all of which are proving extremely beneficial to the team members and range from raised morale and self esteem in representing the team through to improved health and fitness. Yesterday afternoon, as part of a series of initiatives between the team and the Hotel, we presented a festive hamper to the residents of Park View Nursing Home, which looks out onto our home pitch at Sutton Park, Blunsdon. This all came about from discussions between one of my coaching assistants, Steve Averies, who has been instrumental in organising the sponsorship with the managers of the Hotel's leisure club and the Nursing home - both of whom he knows through personal circumstances. We felt it would be an ideal opportunity for the lads to give something back to the local community at this important time of year. And so a small delegation from the team accompanied the leisure club manager, Julien Cini, to make the presentation and it was well received by everyone involved. Regards, Ian Dowdell
